‘Night of the Comet’ is an often overlooked gem of 1980s horror.

Directed and written by Thom Eberhardt, this film is probably best described as a ‘zombie-comedy-disaster’ movie.

The films kicks off the plot with Earth passing through the tail of a passing comet. Crowds gather to watch the event, but it has consequences that nobody could predict and it ends up wiping out most of humanity.

Meanwhile, two valley girls wake up and find Los Angeles is now pretty much deserted, with most of the previous inhabitants turned to dust…..well not quite everyone, there are numerous zombies lurking around, a dark section of the government that survived by hiding in a bunker, and loads of general weirdness going on.
