‘The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies‘ (1964), aside from having one of the best film titles ever, also claims to have been the first ever ‘monster musical’
Filmed on a tiny budget, most of the action takes place in a carnival/fun-fair where three friends are having a day out. One of the them gets hypnotized by a stripper and a fortune-teller who turn him into a zombie who goes on a killing rampage.
This is an intensely odd film that received a poor reception in its early life, but over the years it has grown into a camp/cult classic.
This is also another case of the theatrical poster being much better than the film and promising way more style and creativity than the film actually delivers.
