Tombs of the Blind Dead‘ A.K.A ‘La noche del terror ciego’ is a Spanish horror film directed by Amando de Ossorio.

Tombs of the Blind Dead‘ is the first film in a trilogy that become know as the ‘Blind Dead‘ series.

The film draws upon the legends of The Knights Templar (a 14th Century order later linked to witchcraft) as the focal point of the horror – their long-dead corpses return to life and hunt by sound alone (as their eyes were originally pecked out by birds).

The film is watchable enough, and the zombies used in the film are creepy enough, despite being a bit stiff and wooden. The real scares in the film comes from the sinister atmosphere that each scene is steeped in.

The posters for the move were pretty great and full of detail, the skeletal zombified remains of the Knights Templar make for great centerpieces for many of the theatrical posters.
