This was released in 1932 and is pretty much the first zombie film.
It was made by Victor Halperin and his brother Edward Halperin, and starred the king of early horror – Béla Lugosi
The plot basically revolves around ancient voodoo curses that allows a person to control the thoughts and actions of another, there is no shambling and rotting undead here, it is pure voodoo.
It was released to mixed reviews, but it has gained a cult following over the years and it still fondly regarded by fans of the genre.
