‘Zombie Lake’ is a Spanish-French horror film that was directed by Jean Rollin. Jean Rollin took over as director at the last minute after grindhouse/exploitation legend Jesus Franco dropped out at the last minute.
The film is pure exploitation trash, and was also known by the title ‘Le lac des morts vivants‘.
The plot revolves around a small French town who occupants killed a squad of German soldiers during World War II, and threw their bodies in the local lake.
Except the only problem is that now the zombies are rising from the lake and attacking the town.
The film was mostly panned by critics, but over time the film has grown to hold a special place in the hearts of some horror-fans. This low-budget horror is a feast of bad-taste and exploitation cinema, full of nudity, bad special-effects, and nazi-zombies.
The film came with some great looking posters too.
