Zombie! vs. Mardi Gras‘ is a low, low budget independet zombie-horror-comedy that was written and directed by Karl DeMolay, Will Frank, and Mike Lyddon.

The film was released direct to video in 1993, but it did get a very limited theatrical release in 2001 in New York.

The plot of the film concerns a character called ‘MacGuffin’ who is a bitter and twisted after becoming disabled when he was trampled and crushed by Mardi Gras revelers. He vows to get revenge on all party-goers and make them feel a similar pain and misery that he currently does.

To get his revenge he performs an ancient ritual that raises ‘Zombie!’ (that is the actual name of the creature) from the grave, who then proceeds to go on a murder rampage during the New Orleans Mardi Gras.

This is low budget exploitation with gratuitous nudity and scenes shoehorned in just for the sake of a joke, even when they make no sense in the overall structure of the film.
